DETAILS on aid stations in the TRIATHLON CíesIslands Challenge
CYCLING
As you can see in the tab “COURSE”, the bike is 4 laps between Vao’s Beach and the town of Ramallosa.
The aid station is situated at the turn point in km12/mile8 approximately.
Therefore, triathletes will pass the nutrition station4 times.
The nutrition supply consists of:
- Water
- Powerade
- Aquarius
- NutriSport Gel & Energy Bar (Fast and long energy)
Nutrisport advice:
- Combine gels with bars to keep glycogen levels stable, providing your metabolism with energy.
- Take 1 gel and 1 bar per hour.
RUNNING
There will be two aid stations per lap, in km0 and km2.5/mile1.6. Therefore, all runners will pass the aid station 8 times.
It consists of:
- Fruit such as oranges, bananas, melon or watermelon.
- Water
- Powerade
- Aquarius
- NutriSport Gel & Energy Bar (Fast and long energy)
Nutrisport advice:
- Combine gels with bars to keep glycogen levels stable, providing your metabolism with energy.
- Take 1 gel and 1 bar each hour.
END OF THE RACE
StressNutril. (Muscular recovery)
- Carb Shake, proteins (+BCAA’s and L-Glutamine), vitamins and minerals.
- For trainings between 60 to 90 minutes, take one dose immediately after exercise.
- For trainings lasting more than 90 minutes, take one dose right after exercise plus another 90 minutes later.
- Fruit and Drinks.
