The Open Water Association of Galicia in collaboration with the Maritime-Terrestrial National Park of Galicia’s Atlantic Islands, organizes the 8th Annual CÍES ISLANDS CHALLENGE Open Water Swim.
The event consists of covering the 10k by swim that separate the Cíes Islands from Vigo, from Rodas Beach in Cíes to Vao Beach in Vigo.
It is a non-competitive event. The number of maximum participants will be limited to 150 swimmers divided into 4 groups of 30 to 35 people based on their pace for a 3.000 meters race, that has to be sent in with your registration.
Group formation will be announced the 25th of August (previously published in the web) coinciding with the briefing for participants in the Open Water Swim. Such briefing will take place in the Hotel Ciudad de Vigo at 8pm.

REGISTRATION opens the 1st of March 2017 (1pm).
Registration for this 8th Annual CÍES ISLANDS CHALLENGE has a fee of 90 euros.
The registration fee includes:
- Transport of the swimmers to the island
- RC general insurance of the event
- Individual Accidental Insurance for each swimmer
- Medical support
- Aid stations during the swim
- Aid stations after arrival
- Commemorative T-Shirt
Overall and Master Men and Women (being minimum 18 years old).
